LOGITECH GLOBAL LTD's ENVIORNMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

In 2006, Logitech Global Ltd made a decision on developing an Integrated System of management on the basis of international standards ISO 14001, ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001.

In order to achieve this goal, Logitech Global Ltd has developed a complex program on creation and integration of the system of operational control and local ecological monitoring of main processes (operations) connected with ecological aspects of the company’s work. In addition, there were works on identification of ecological aspects of the company activity sphere, which are as follows:

  • Determination of ecological aspects;

  • Analysis of the identified ecological impact;

  • Estimation of the value of the ecological aspects.

The main tasks of the operational control and local ecological monitoring are:

  • Performing estimation of the condition of the environment, ecosystems, sources of human intervention in the area of Primorsk port location;

  • Control of observance of sanitary standards on the content of contaminating elements in components of the environment at the boundary of the sanitary protection zone (SPZ).

Performing works on operational control and local ecological monitoring included:

  • Research the air at the boundary of SPZ,

  • Control of circulation of the wastes of production and consumption,

  • Control of the quality of the surface water and bottom silt,

  • Control of the quality of ballast water,

  • Control of carrying out trainings on localization and removal of emergencies.

The condition of the surface water is also determined via helicopter observations, due to which the influence of the Company and its contractors on the environment in the mooring zone and the sea-ships passing zone are becoming more apparent.

Logitech Global Ltd has developed a system for emergency oil spillage . It includes calculation of the risk levels of oil spillage, mathematical simulation of possible scenarios of changes in the spillage depending on the season, maps of ecological sensibility, where the priority protection zones are determined. At the area of the port, an emergency rescue teams and environment protection fleet are on 24-hour duty; they are equipped with all necessary tools and devices for removal of emergencies.

The high level of ecological safety, presence of the corresponding certificates and licenses, specially trained highly qualified staff, as well as modern fire extinguishing means, advanced equipment and technology for removal of possible emergency oil spillages promote successful functioning of Logitech Global Ltd on the service market, strengthening the national security and social and economic growth of the North-Western region and of Russia as a whole.
