Environmental Protection

Ecological control over production objects of the port and environment components were carried out by our ecological departments of the port organizations and the accredited ecological-analytical laboratory.

Ecological control represents a system of observations, estimation, and forecasting changes in the state of the environment under the conditions of production activity of the Company using instrumental and other measurements, modelling, expert estimates, and standardised methods for determining the quality of the environment. The main purpose of the work of ecological services is to get accurate information about the condition of the components of the environment on the controlled area for extracting techno-genic components of those changes when comparing the natural processes, prevention and decreasing of negative consequences of the activity, as well as preservation and reliability of functioning of the port objects.

Activity of ecological services is based on the plan-graphs and programs agreed with the territorial nature protection departments. The services control the condition of the atmospheric air on the territory of the sanitary protection zone and production wastes, perform research of trials of drinking water and soil on oil content, estimate the efficiency of the work of waste disposal plants, as well as monthly monitoring of ecological situation in the Finland Gulf near the Port.

Logitech Global Ltd performed loading of crude oil which is an object of increasing ecological control. To evaluate the realistic consequences of any balance alteration, during the project design stage, there is mandatory activity complex intended to prevent negative influence on the environment.
